Charles Fox, founder of the American School of Lutherie, is one of the finest guitar builders in the world. He built guitars under the CFox brand for a short period in the late 90's and early 2000's.Charles Fox is one of the guitar community's earliest boutique builders. Through his American School of Lutherie and his affinity for jig making and problem solving, it's not unreasonable to speculate that he has directly or indirectly influenced virtually every acoustic guitar maker working today.This Charles Fox SJ features a Solid Spruce top paired with a gorgeous set of Indian Rosewood on the back and sides. This SJ-X is a little more tame in design compared to the Ergo, but the tone is still all Fox.Sitka has a lower stiffness-to-weight ratio than Adirondack Red Spruce. A positive side-effect of this more flexible soundboard is that it doesn't require as much strength (or string attack) to produce it's signature balanced sonic tone.The back and sides feature a gorgeous set of Indian Rosewood. Rosewood is associated with rich, deep bases and sparkling high end with lots of power. This guitar comes equipped with a Fishman Prefix pickup. The pickup and the guitar work together perfectly for a powerful and cohesive acoustic guitar tone that is a deep and “filled out”. This instrument is in Great Condition with a few things to note. There are light surface scratches throughout the top, back , sides, neck, and headstock. There are some deeper scratches/marks on the back of the headstock as well as some very slight sinking at the binding near the end pin. It also has minor fretwear. Includes Hardshell Case.Features :
