For sale is a beautiful Klein and Hummel UE-100 tube equalizer. These are very rare eq's that were originally designed in 1961 for mastering purposes. Every setting is a switch so they can be easily recalled and matched as pairs. These are very rare and incredibly sweet sounding eq's. Its possibly the most over-engineered piece of gear I've ever worked with.This unit is all original and all functions appear to work. I brought it up slowly on a variac and went through each setting. This is a vintage unit and I did not individually test all the tubes so I cannot say if its working exactly as it should but it does sound huge and very smooth on the high's, mids and lows. Its a very special design where you can simultaneously select an upper and lower frequency on the mid-frequency bands allowing you to create totally unique tonal combinations.I applied contact cleaner to some of the switches that sounded dirty. For someone who wants to use this every day in the studio I would suggest a tech review post-shipment. It comes with XLR pigtails and a power cable via the tuchel connectors on the back. The power input is currently wired for 110V. Some of the labeling on the left hand side has rubbed off over the years so I labeled a couple of the settings.I also built the wood rack case as much for protection as aesthetics. These are larger than a typical 19" rack so I wanted a rigid frame for shipping. Its a bit taller than the unit to allow for ventilation for the tubes.This unit is being sold in functional but not recently serviced condition. I can accept returns for damage in shipping and if the unit is DOA but I do suggest a tech review for optimum performance. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
