National ResoPhonic Estralita Deluxe Cutaway Single Cone Wood Body Guitar Developed in 2001 by Eric Smith and Don Young, the National ResoPhonic Estralita Deluxe has become one of National's best wood body guitars. Inspired by the grand concert sized Estralita model from 1934, this "Little Star" Deluxe is a fresh take on the original design. Constructed with a style O size body, the Estralita Deluxe shares the same form as the M2 single cone. Unlike the catalog Estralita, this guitar was ordered with a custom cutaway, which includes the tricone style sound holes in the upper bout. This helps the player access the normally challenging upper register on this 12th fret guitar. In all other ways, this Estralita shares the standard walnut back and sides, which helps produce a warm rich voice. Along the top, Figured Maple is accented by a beautiful sunburst. Accented at the headstock, a sheet of white "mother of toilet seat" is etched with the iconic National crest. It is quite a treat! Playing this stunning guitar, it is very easy to get lost in the warmth of it's voice. Like playing a vintage radio, or the feeling of a good vinyl record, the classic sound of all National guitars come from the iconic AlNiCo National cones.
