The Choptank is a culmination of the best features of the timeless bolt-on guitars in a single attractive, functional handmade package. It features a one-piece swamp ash single cutaway body with a very ergonomic neck heel, an extremely playable 1 5/8" nut width 52 profile neck & some of the silkiest frets you'll ever feel. At 7 pounds 9 ounces the guitar is easy on the shoulder and has all the tonal authority one could ask for with chimy highs, singing mids & crisp focused lows.Joe Knaggs has been building great guitars for decades. In the mid ’80s he started his lutherie career in the finish room at P.R.S. Guitars & worked his way up to director of R&D and Private Stock. He wound up designing the McCarty Archtop and Hollowbody, the Mira and the Starla— guitars that were at once futuristic and retro. In 2009, Knaggs went his own way to create his own guitar company.Back in April Premier Guitar magazine reviewed a Chesapeake Choptank that looked exactly like this one. It was love at first sight. We added a set of Fralin Blues Special pickups for extra flavor and the result is before you. Come check it out while it lasts.Specifications
