That's right no "f-ing" F holes!!!
This was to help control feedback and makes for a cleaner looking design (in my opinion). These were originally built with the “Dirty Fingers” pick-ups but after I got this one (used in 2004) my guitar tech told me the pick-ups I had were not original and were maybe from a mid -70’s Les Paul. Maybe not. Since I was in a blues band at the time and really wanted a “Lucille” model anyways but did not have the cash, I decided to install Gibson 490T and 490R pick-ups (because that’s what Lucille uses) in the guitar that is for sale here. Sort of a “Lucille Light”. Also had the frets and neck tuned up and that area is like new. Tuners appear to be original. So I did get to play out with the guitar for about six gigs back in 2005 and then the band broke up. The sound thru my Fender tube amp is wonderful. There is nothing like the tone of a semi-hollow body with humbucking pick-ups. You know what I am talking about or you would not be interested. I do have other guitars to play and since this one was so expensive and I was afraid of something happening to it, I have kept it in a closet in my office ever since. The only issues are cosmetic. The paint on the body has the usual issues that all the other older original Gibson semi hollow bodys have and this one is no different. The finish was worn/rubbed off on the back of the neck when I got it, and I was intending to fix it, but it did not affect the play-ability or feel of the neck and is a non issue other than looks, and nobody ever sees it or has pointed at it and laughed. There is also a blemish that is on the back of the neck by the nut that I try to show in the photo of the serial number. It is not much, there is some roughness in the paint, not even into the mahogany. Again, this does not get in the way of anything but people do not like surprises. Please keep in mind that this is a used guitar. BTW, The strap buttons were replaced with Schaller strap locks and they will be included in the sale along with the leather strap. The case that came with the guitar does not appear to be Gibson but seems to be in very good shape and is of course included. I will ship this wrapped with bubble wrap or the equivalent, in its case within an appropriate cardboard box. Please contact me with any issues.Serial number for this is 80856542. This means it was 542nd instrument stamped at the plant where it was made, on Wednesday March 26, 1986.NO RESERVE PRICE
