For sale here is for a 1964 Fender Precision Bass neck, which works perfectly, plays great, and looks cool.  Included & installed is an older set of Gotoh “vintage” tuners, which are shown in the photos... this neck is ready to be bolted up & played now.   This neck went back - as a whole bass - to Fender for a refin in the later 1960s.  It received the stamped number on the heel (to keep track of its relationship to the body), as well as the current Precision Bass logo in use at the time.  It is unmodified since then, and retains that original finish, logo, nut, tuner ferrules, string retainer, strap button, and frets.  The Gotoh tuners are from the early 1980s, and certainly fit & look the part.   The finish on the back of the neck is worn & smooth, and there’s some light checking, visible mostly on the back of the headstock.  There are some shallow divots on the curved Brazilian rosewood fretboard.  There are a few dings & scuffs scattered around the headstock & neck back… nothing traumatic.  No overspray, no extra holes, no nonsense, period.   This neck has been strung up and I’ve been playing it for nearly two decades now.  It’s straight, and with factory action there are no dead spots, fret-outs, buzzers, etc.  The truss rod works normally, is NOT buried, and right now it’s set just fine for medium-gauge strings.  The frets have some wear in the lower positions, but there’s still life left in ‘em.   The neck is stamped 5 JUN 64 C on the butt end, and 0832 on the heel.  The width at the nut is just a tad wider than 1 & 11/16th inches.  The profile is a little more flattish than full-feeling... it could easily be the model for many of the ‘60s reissues Fender has made since then.   I’ll ship this neck economically but safely packed, at actual cost, via USPS Priority Mail.  Other shipping options, including local pickup, are possible.   READ THIS: I unconditionally guarantee that I’ve described this neck honestly, but otherwise sales are final, so please ask all questions BEFORE you bid.  If you’re out of the shipping area, are new to eBay, or have had problems with past eBay exchanges, contact me BEFORE you bid.  And if you can’t communicate & pay promptly, or follow these other simple courtesies, then please just shop elsewhere.   This neck was on my number one bass for well over a decade… I don’t “think” that it feels & plays great, I know it.  Sadly, my low-light eyesight is starting to degrade, and I can no longer see the clay fret position markers in dimly-lit bars… so I’m just not playing it much anymore.  Time for someone else to take it into future decades…
