Taylor T5 The T5 from Taylor Guitars is designed for the musician who has to cover a lot of musical territory but does not want to lug more than one guitar to the gig. Soon after the Taylor T5 hit the market in 2005, the music industry press nominated it for Electric Guitar of the Year, as well as Acoustic Guitar of the Year, and it won both awards. A resonant, fully hollow thinline body is the backbone of the T5. Its comfort and playability is unquestionable, with the performance freedom of a solidbody and the feel and sound of a beloved Taylor acoustic. Whether played through an electric or acoustic amp, it delivers a fantastic range of pure tones from smooth, strumming acoustic to crunchy electric chords. This Taylor T5 has a stunning figured Curly Maple top with Sapele back and sides. Maple makes a very balanced sounding guitar -- much of the warmth of rosewood and much of the brightness of mahogany. Gorgeous figure and a sweet tone create the allure, making it a favorite among Taylor players. The Sapele back and sides create an incredible tone for this guitar. Sapele is a large tree native to tropical Africa. Sapele is very similar to mahogany, in both density and the tone it produces. Due to the extremely gorgeous figuring, it is generally hard to come by in the US since it tends to be much more valuable as veneer and prices for the figured solid wood stocks are now very high. Special appointments include fully hollow thinline body with stylized f-holes, Venetian cutaway, intricate abalone fretboard inlays, gold hardware with white body, fretboard and peghead binding. This is all the guitar you will ever need for those gigs that demand a wide variety of sounds! The T5 is nothing short of high-performance art. The T5 electronics were inspired by the revolutionary Taylor Expression System®, and then were custom designed to bring out the best electric and acoustic tones from the guitar. Thanks to its humbucking pickups and proprietary body sensor, the T5 produces a versatile range of pure analog tones from strumming acoustic to crunchy electric, and everything in between. This 2010 Taylor T5  is in excellent + condition. There are only a few barely noticeable scratches on the top and back. This guitar has also recently had a PLEK at Glaser Instruments.
