Offered here is a 1928 Conn "Chu Berry" alto saxophone. Serial number 223879. Silver plated with gold bell. The sax has been serviced and is in good condition. The pads are older and four have been replaced. I am not a player but I have heard it play as it sits but can not vouch for the longevity of the older pads. The horn carries an aged patina but is clean and mechanically seems solid. This must have been a work horse in its day as the plating is worn through in several places and the strap ring is worn like it's seen a lot of playing time. It does not come with a mouth piece. The case is original and the covering is very worn. It's missing a handle but it should still work as a case once the handle is sorted out. Some vintage self applied artwork on the back side of the case adds to the intrigue of this horns history. (contact me and I'll send a pic if you want to see it) If this horn could talk... it's a great looking vintage horn with more stories to tell, looking for a new home. Please contact me with any questions or for more information. I am happy to provide any images not shown in this listing. If logistically possible, I welcome and encourage anyone to play the horn before purchase. I will ship this horn with all the keys wedged closed but as with all shipped vintage instruments, some adjustment may be needed for pads that may shift during shipping. Shipping is based on 15lbs at29x12x10 with insurance.
