Beautiful example of this rare K1963 triple pancake pickup model with stunning rosewood fingerboard. It looks like Brazilian in feel and grain but who knows what they were using in the early '60's. The neck is also nicely bound, unusual in this era Kay. There is little fret wear and the neck is true. The pickups, rotary switch, vol, and tone pots are all stock and function properly. Tuning pegs are also original and work very well. The tone is very cool and expressive, as a good pancake pickup equipped Kay should! The original upper pickguard, which was a mirror image of the lower one, was removed and lost long ago, probably because they catch shirtsleeves on the sharp edges. Included with the original padded chipboard case.
