Hi and thank you for checking out this auction. Up for bid is a 1979 Fender Stratocaster. I purchased this guitar new in 1979 at Professional Music Center in Greensburg, PA and have owned it ever since. Like many late 1970’s Fender guitars, this Strat had a finish that unfortunately cracked and warped, so I had the body professionally refinished in the late 1990’s. For the life of me, I can’t remember the name of the place where I sent the body to be refinished but I know it was in Ohio. They refinished the body to the original color and in my opinion they did a great job. Everything else on the guitar is stock, including the original case, strap, cleaning cloth, truss rod wrench and bridge cover. Please see the photos for everything that is included with the guitar. There are some very minor blemishes on the finish that I’ve tried my best to highlight in the photos. There are also some minor dings on headstock, although my parent’s ceilings fared far worse when I was jumping around like an idiot playing who knows what when I was a teenager! There is also a very small blemish on the neck. Additionally, the guitar-in jack is a little loose. I think a washer on the inside would do the trick but I’m not a guitar tech by any means. This classic Strat weighs in about 9.5 lbs. The neck on this guitar has a very fat, chunky feel. It’s got an excellent birds-eye maple finish. The frets are still in great shape. Quite honestly, even though I’ve had this guitar for 38 years (man, am I getting old!), I really didn’t play it much. Thought I was a rock god when I got it, but realized I’m only mortal. But I’ve dragged this thing along every stop of the way and kept it in its case when I wasn’t playing it. There is a five-way pick-up selector that lets you get those cool out-out-phase tones in positions 2 and 4. The tuning pegs still work smoothly. I just put on new strings (10-46) to make sure the guitar still works properly, which it does, and it sounds good. I’d be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Shipping only to North America via FedEx regular.
