This guitar (along with another Soloist SLX in yellow- which is listed on eBay too) was an impulse buy.
Loved the color (especially side by side with the yellow one) and thought they'd make a great addition to my collection.
Came home, without even playing a single note, replaced the Duncan Designed pickups with a EMG 81/5 combo, replaced all black hardware with chrome counterparts (generic tuners, Authentic Floyd Rose Special tremolo, locking nut, knobs, strap buttons, everything!), re-stringed it with a set of 9-42 gauge Cleartone strings, put it aside and never picked it up until today, to photograph it for this listing. The guitar is in mint condition - in fact it's "newer" than most brand new guitars - virtually unplayed!
The neck is very, very thin and and the fretwork from the factory is meticulous and of course the action is pretty low.
It's truly a seriously good guitar.
Just on sale because I'm letting go all my "unnecessary", sub-$1000 guitars, as my collection has become a little ridiculous. These guitars go for around $550 new and when you add another $200 for EMGs and wiring, $100 for Floyd Rose, $25 for tuners, $15 for knobs, $10 for strap buttons, it adds up to $900. IF you're interested in a Soloist SLX in red with chrome hardware AND a set of EMG 81/85, it's basically a steal at $550!None of my guitars have tremolo cavity covers as I believe they seriously effects the tone so this one's missing it too. If I can find it, I'll make sure it's shipped with the guitar. If I can't find it and you don't believe it affects the the tone. you can always get one online for a few bucks I believe.PS: The packaging will be meticulous!!!
