Great sounding, classic, hand-built (by me!) 5e3 amplifier. Built from the standard Weber 5e3 amp kit complete with the Weber 12A125-A speaker with only two alterations: dogbone handle, and authentic pilot light assembly (not plastic) and purple jewel. Also in the quest for a silent vintage tube amp, all wires carrying the audio signal are shielded and grounded, and lieu of the copper grounding plate (notoriously troublesome and potentially noise inducing) a more efficient grounding bus scheme was used. I live in Manhattan where there is an enormous amount of electrical interference and this is still a very quiet amp. The cabinet has been lacquered with Zinsserer Amber Bulls Eye Shellac to cover the raw tweed and try to recreate the vintage look. I think this turned out very well however the tint is a bit darker where the shellac met the cabinet glue (see photos). This amp has barely been used, and has never left my apartment. I plugged it in and played a bit while taking these pics, and this is an absolutely wonderful sounding amp, don't miss out!
