I play trumpet and cornet with a municipal brass band still. Usually, I just enjoy sitting in the last section of the cornets, but a few years back, we lost our Eb player in the local Brass Band I play in, and I decided I'd move up to the Eb chair. After trying what I had in my collection, I realized I needed a better horn for this HIGHLY EXPOSED position, I can't switch around and play all my large collection of cornets as I have in the past, so I'm having to let some horns go from the closet! I was holding on to this horn for my very young grandson but they need a car now more than a horn in 10 years! The serial number on the second valve set is 5948XX, putting this example likely around 2007! It is silverplated, with silver valve and finger buttons.THIS IS A GREAT QUALITY AND GREAT PLAYING HORN. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR JUST ABOUT ANY SETTING, FROM BRASS BAND TO JAZZ. BACH HAS LONG MADE A LINE OF INSTRUMENTS BASED ON IT'S FAMOUS STRADIVARIUS LINE, BUT WITH MACHINE MADE BELLS AND LIGHTER CONSTRUCTION FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS AND LESS CRITICAL PLAYERS. THESE HAVE INCLUDED THE OLDER MERCEDES, OMEGA, TR200, ETC. THE BEST OF THESE "STRAD LIGHT" HORNS WERE MADE WITH STRAD VALVE SETS, WHICH THIS HORN HAS. IT ALSO HAS VERY ATTRACTIVE ENGRAVING ON THE BELL, AS AN ADDED PLUS. IT IS BOUND TO GET SOME NICE COMMENTS WHEN YOU FIRST BRING IT TO REHEARSAL. SINCE THIS IS A QUALITY INSTRUMENT, I AM NOT IN A HURRY TO SELL IT, SO NO LOWBALL OFFERS, PLEASE!CONDITION: This instrument is in functionally and cosmetically GOOD condition, Valve compression and slide fit is very good. The instrument shows no sign of any major repairs, major dents, but a a few small dimples along t6he bell pipe! The appearance is good but not mint. The horn is complete and ready to go.CASE: An almost new PRO-TEC hard side gig case (with solid foam structure) is included. These provide compact, lightweight carrying with excellent protection.MOUTHPIECE: I am including a used BACH 5C gold plated mouthpiece, which really makes this horn sound fabulous. The mouthpiece has a minor amount of 'stage rash', but nothing that will affect playability.Shipping: Shipping in the continental US will be FREE. I will ship to some other locations, outside the 50 US states will be through EBay's Global Shipping Program. WHY BUY A QUALITY ASSURED INSTRUMENT FROM AN EXPERIENCED SELLER SUCH AS MYSELF? I am an experienced trumpet player, collector, and teacher. I have collected, repaired, and played trumpets for over 55 years. As a knowledgeable and experienced amateur, I have a lower cost of operation than a commercial enterprise, and can keep my costs low. You can see from my eBay rating that I have been careful to insure that I only supply quality instruments, and inspect, prepare, and describe them properly. I have thoroughly inspected this instrument, replaced the felts and corks and aligned the valves as needed, and made sure that it plays properly, and has proper tone for your beginner. I have cleaned the instrument thoroughly, polished all slides to prevent corrosion from locking the slides and valves, and properly lubricated the instrument with high quality lubricant. Finally, I have been asked whether this is recommended as a student instrument, and I can say that these instruments have been highly rated by many teachers for beginners and advanced players, but I suggest that anyone buying an instrument for a younger student ask his or her teachers if they agree with that brand. Many teachers do have preferences, and this can affect a student's progress. I will, however, flatly state that many of the "bargain basement" new instruments from the unknown manufacturers (even when they are branded, you may not know who made them) are inferior. Parts for repair, or even the repairs themselves are not available, due to odd pieces, or inferior materials. Internal dimensions and correct alloys are critical on all musical instruments. A shiny (or odd colored) instrument with inferior playing qualities will soon discourage even the most eager student. THIS INSTRUMENT IS SOLD AS IS. THIS DESCRIPTION IS AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE. I AM A LONG TIME TRUMPET PLAYER AND PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER, AND CONTINUE TO PLAY AND COLLECT INSTRUMENTS OF ALL QUALITIES AND AGES. THE INSTRUMENT WILL BE PROPERLY PACKED, AND INSURED FOR THE SALE PRICE. I will ship internationally (some countries) and US buyer shipping and handling by USPS Third Day Priority. My shipping price includes insurance for the sale value. I insist on insurance for the sale price at least. Other locations please contact me. I WILL NOT insure this instrument for less than the sale price. I will NOT ship this outside of the US UNLESS the package can be tracked to the receiver!! Payment by PayPal only!!Please e-mail me with questions. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!! |
