Hi there! If you're reading this you are an acoustic guitar lover I can tell. I'll start with the cons, because I like to be up front and honest. CONSThere are slight surface marks on this guitar, because obviously it has been played. And since it is dark in color they show up fairly easily. There are some scratches on the back, shown in the pictures, and I tried to get an angle of the top where you can see what it really looks like. I would like no surprises! I just want to be clear, this guitar has been played a lot, and in my opinion is in great shape and sounds better now than it ever has probably due to the wood opening up and becoming more responsive. Surface marks are about the only cons I can mention, the rest is great stuff :)PROSAlright! So this guitar has had a full fret redress recently, so it feels and plays super nicely. On top of that it's had a bone nut and saddle professionally installed! Great upgrade from the standard Tusq plastic it came with. And there's a fire stripe pickguard installed, although the old (and might I add boring) plain black pickguard is included in the sale and was undamaged in the removal. You can see the stripe pickguard in the pictures, it allows you to see more of the Sitka spruce wood grains through it as well. The pickup has been removed to install the new bone nut and saddle, but is also in perfect shape and included in the sale. I think the sound is better when the bone saddle can sit right on the rosewood bridge, allowing full vibration. The truss rod cover is made from a brown leather, but again the original is in perfect shape and included. Here's one of the best deals on top of all that: white button WAVERLY TUNERS have been installed! So much lighter and better functioning than the original. This alone is a $300 addition, never mind the bone nut and saddle and custom setup. As for playability and tone: the nut and saddle have been custom set for a player who likes to play both hard and soft. So lower than factory, (which is crazy high), but high enough to pull out some hardcore bluegrass lines as well. String buzz is not a problem, and the action has room to go down as well if you plan to play light mostly. The tone is that classic Gibson woody tone, clear highs and a great midrange, and the bass can growl when you dig on it as well. This is a super great all around machine, and would make any player proud!
