(RAVI SHANKAR) TRADITIONAL CLASSICAL INDIAN SITAR! Up for sale and for your buying pleasure is a vintage (Ravi Shankar) 18 string sitar with case in Excellent Condition!I see no marking's as to where and who made it,but I believe it to be India,and dates back to the 1980's or 90's.This classical Indian instrument has a long broad neck with a gourd shaped body,it features 2 tumba's.The larger tumba sits at the base and is part of the instrument itself,the smaller tumba fits into the top of the Sitar's neck.both tumba's along with the sympathetic strings produce a very powerful resonating sound.This is a HIGH QUALITY made Sitar and is made from a combination of TEAK,and MAHAGONY wood where it's MYSTICAL sound is generated.Everything seems to be in good working condition and comes with an extra set of strings. frets are adjustable to any type of Raga you like to hear!it may need a little tuning and some general cleaning, that I will leave up to the new owner!I will also throw in a couple of how to play the Sitar booklets along with an original sound track album of RAVI SHANKAR himself,(some of the pages inside the album have come apart,but are still intact).It's now time for this wonderful sitar to find it's new home!Make me a Reasonable Offer!Serious inquiries only!Please pay within 3 days of auction closing!ask any and all questions before you decide to make this purchase!No international bidding!Because of the nature of this item there are no returns.Please look at all the pics closely.I reserve the right to end the auction early If your local I would be happy to meet with you in person to see the sitar and save you money on shipping!Standard shipping by UPS will be $49.50.Thanks for stopping by and good luck!!
