This is a 1962 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman with knob-style mule controls. This guitar has a very nice flame-grain top.I've spoken with Ed Ball about this guitar and who game me some of the following details.  Gretsch made no more than 300 guitars with this feature package for the '62. "George Harrison's specimen is reported to have the serial number 47628, and documented in the book "Beatles Anthology". The guitar I'm selling is just 12 examples earlier in the batch with the Serial # 47616.The guitar appears to be all original. The binding is shot and in need of a complete rebind. I've spoken with Curt Wilson of oldshoolguitars. He said that the guitar is a "keeper". He's comes highly recommended with very reasonable rates. I am selling this for my wife's Aunt. Her husband was a huge Beatles fan which is why he bought this guitar. I'm not a guitar expert but I know he took very good care of his guitars. The neck appears to be in fine condition. All of the strings were tuned down when I took the guitar out of the case. Once tuned up the guitar played wonderfully. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them.
