Up for auction is a very rare shredders dream guitar. If you're looking at this listing you probably already know what this is. This is a George Washburn EC29 USA Signature Series, Stephens Extended Cutaway model, 29 fret rock and roll monster, a very rare gem as they only made around 1000 - 1500 of these 25 years ago.The Stephens Extended Cutaway electric models were made from 1987- 1989 and designed entirely by Stephen Davies a master luthier in conjunction with George Washburn. This is a high end instrument built in the 80's when there was a battle for best shredder guitars and this was Washburn's version. The luthiery involved in these instruments was (and still is) top end. In 87 these listed for $2000.00 and up. Back in the late 80's Michael Angelo Batio and Tommy lommi of Black Sabath played these guitars and I bet they still have them in their collections. In fact this one is signed by Michael Angelo. You can take off the signature easily if you decide to.IT IS ALL ORIGINAL. IT WAS INSPECTED AND REWIRED LAST WEEK.* It has Washburn custom-wound pickups - Humbucker at the bridge and single in the neck.*Alder body, Maple neck* Active circuitry switches on and off from the push/pull rear tone knob.
* Three position selector switch - volume knob, push pull active/passive knob mid boost gain knob.* It has the Washburn 600T tremolo, mfg. under Floyd Rose patents.* It has an Ebony fretboard with medium frets in very good condition.* The neck is thin and has a great feel and you can easily get to all 29 frets, thanks to the great neck through design* The action is superb and surprisingly it also has a really warm clean sound with amp clean whether the circuitry is on or off & the sustain is incredible.* This guitar is solid as a rock and plays and sounds like a dream. These guitars are pretty hard to come by in this condition and it took me 2 years to find this one back in 2008.
I soon found myself going back to school and although it pains me to get rid of it, my student debt has caught up with me. I honestly hate to see it go.It comes in its original hardshell case and will be very securely packed.
This is a great guitar and a piece of guitar history. As time goes by these are getting harder and harder to come across and most are pretty beat up.I am only listing this once and if it doesn't sell I will keep it forever, so don't miss out - I will put up the best offer option, but I will not give it away either. Be reasonable with your offer and you might take it home.
