Lerner about a $20 check in 1935 for an ad at his school Choate in Connecticut. The letter is from George J. Osterman possibly the accountant of his father. During the summers of 1936 and 1937, he attended the Julliard School of Music in New York City. This is probably when Alan obtained Ray Henderson's autograph from the "George White Scandals of 1936".
