Vox AC30TB vintage 1960's amp and cab.
Here we have a 99% all original Vox head and cab with wheeled frame stand.
One owner from new.
Purchased in "early 1960's" but can't remember when exactly.
We've found sources that suggest the head is early 1960's like 1961 going by the serial number however I have since found out that it is a circa 1964-1965 model.
Condition: The amp is covered in dents, scratches and scuffs but is all original with no repairs.
One of the black grills on top is missing. The valves inside are old. Not sure if original but they are old Mullard output valves and Brymar pre-amp valves. The rectifier is a newer Sovtek valve.
On the back is a plate that says AC30 and the serial number 5241.
The cab is an AC50 cab although not specifically just for use with the AC50 head of course. It was purchased WITH the AC30 head at the same time. The speakers are 2 x Goodmans Audiom 61 12" speakers rated at 20 watts each with a 15 Ohm Midax tweater. Sources suggest this could be as old as 1958-59 however another source suggests more like 1964-1965.
We have tested the amp and it is good working order for a vintage amp.
The tremolo is in working condition with original footswitch.
When playing around with the controls we found several of them made a scratching noise when operated as is to be expected on a vintage amp. Dimensions:
Head: 690mm wide x 280mm deep x 250mm high
Cab: 840mm wide x 300mm deep x 560mm high
Stand: 950mm wide (max) x 390mm deep x 730mm highBecause this is such an old amp it is SOLD as SEEN with absolutely no warranty whatsoever and delivery will be by me personally at a cost of £75 anywhere on mainland UK. Treat this as an amp that will require a service for optimun use-ability, however for the sake of originality we have kept it as original as possible.
