Never thought I would sell this. Rare opportunity to get this very high-end model. Yamaki guitars are secret treasures. This guitar was imported from Japan in very low numbers. I have never seen another except on a Japanese website. I bought it from the original owner in the US. He purchased it new in 1978. He told me that it was priced in the area of Martin's and Gibson's at the time. But he liked this Yamaki better. The 50 in the model name means it was 50,000 yen in 1978. The original owner played it carefully for a couple of years then it went into it's case and stored in a closet for 30 years. This is truly in closet queen condition. The only things keeping it from being absolutely perfect are some tarnish of the gold tuner buttons and a hairline crack between the bridge pins that I had professional ly repaired when I bought it. No other previous repairs were done. From the photos you can see how nicely appointed it is. Tortoise pick guard and tortoise binding all around the body and up the neck and over the headstock. Unusual maple fretboard with large abalone markings. Maple bridge. Solid spruce top. All maple back and sides. All parts are original including the bridge pins and Yamaki brand gold plated tuners. It plays and sounds amazing. The maple gives it a bright clear sound that rings like a piano. Action is great with plenty of break angle over the saddle. Sorry for the long winded description but this really is a rare and special guitar. It comes with the original 1978 hard case that it was purchased with.
