Available for sale is a fantastic American Vintage (AVRI) '57 Strat fitted an AVRI '70s neck. The lightweight alder body was refinished to a light metallic blue color (similar to Lake Place Blue/Pelham Blue), and it was originally a "flashy" Candy Apple Red. The original '57 V-shape neck was sold a few years ago as I preferred the "rounder/fuller" U-shape '70s style although it feels more like a C to me (a little thicker although it's not thick like a "baseball bat" either as far as neck sizes go). The neck is dated 2005 at the heel. It is vintage spec all around like the original '70s necks. The frets are in good condition with plenty of life left in them, and there are no rough edges along the sides. The rosewood grain is nice-and-straight, too. There is a slight flame on a small portion of the back of the neck with a touch of "birdseye" on a few spots, too. This neck is an excellent match with the body, and it sounds more suitable to it than the original maple neck that it replaced years ago. This guitar at one point had the Clapton electronics for a couple of years which was great, but since I'm a huge Gilmour/Floyd fan I decided to go with the proper passive pickups instead... and it was the best decision I made for it. It really nails that Gilmour tone so well. It has Fat '50s for the neck position, a Custom '69 (Abby Ybarra initialed) for the middle, and an exclusive Seymour Duncan Custom Shop SSL-1C DG for the bridge position (aka "SSL-5" which is really the SSL-1 "custom wound" - hence the "C" in the model number on the pickup - which are also on the Custom Shop 'The Black Strat' version of the David Gilmour signature models). It is also fairly quiet in terms of noise for single coils. The cavities on the body also have the conductive-shielding paint applied on 'em to help make things as quiet as possible. The body has a "light relic" treatment on it although it's not exaggerated either like some Custom Shop examples out there. The plastics and chrome-metal parts have been "lightly aged" as well. The tuning machines are actual vintage ones from the '70s that are branded "Made in W. Germany" unlike the ones that are made in Taiwan on the current reissues and American Standards, etc.. I only wanted the best for this guitar, and it really shows in how it feels and sounds altogether. My luthier helped me put this "dream Strat" of mine together from the finish work to the final assembly, and he did an excellent job on it. The guitar (with the trem arm attached on it) weighs in at 7 lbs. 6.2 oz.'s on my digital, postal scale. That's an ideal weight... not too heavy and not too light; it's just right. It is very resonate, and it has that beautifully balanced clean (and sort of "loud") chime as it is played unplugged. I describe the tone as "warm" and "clear"... Not "ice picky"at all. This guitar is the best Strat that I've owned, and certainly one of the best guitars that I've ever played. However, I've decided that my preferred weapon of choice is a Gibson Goldtop w/P-90s... so it's the only guitar left that I'll be using since I don't play guitar nearly as much as I once use to. I've sold other guitars, amps, pedals, etc. within the past year or so, and this Stratocaster is basically the last guitar that I'll be selling. Never thought I would be selling it, but it's like they say, "Never say never.". Included with the guitar are the following: a gig bag made by Musician's Friend (in brand new condition), a foldable Ultra guitar stand, and a premium-quality Fender 'Make History: Stars' all-leather 2-3/4" shoulder strap (in "like new" condition). By the way, the strings on the guitar right now were changed about a month ago. They are GHS Boomers 10-46. You're going to love this "bluesy-rock machine". It is a heck of a value just for this guitar alone. I've even told my friends before about it that "in my opinion, it's the best thing on this side apart from the Fender Custom Shop... especially without the hefty Custom Shop price tag." Thanks for looking, and good luck. As with all of my listings, Returns are not accepted. I stand by what I sell as I am accurate to describe everything in detail, and I've never had a disappointed buyer. I've been on eBay for several years, by the way. I ACCEPT PAYMENTS VIA 'PAYPAL' ONLY. NON-PAYING BIDDERS WILL BE REPORTED. 'UPS' SHIPPING ONLY... DELIVERED USUALLY WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO THE CONTINENTAL U.S.ABSOLUTELY NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS, SORRY. DELIVERY MUST BE MADE TO A 'CONFIRMED' U.S. ADDRESS ONLY.
