The outfit as it comes from most other retailers, at least those selling well below the list price:Respected cello outfit from well known wholesaler The Soundpost.  Solid wood, ebony fittings.  Do not confuse with the very cheap cellos often sold on ebay.  List price for the outfit as it comes from the wholesaler is £580 (any lower prices you see quoted as the RRP will simply be because the seller has not updated the list price, the price goes up on a fairly regular basis).  This is one of the most popular cellos on the market for this level (I would recommend it up to about Grade 5)

The upgrades supplied by Elida Violins (platinum plus?):1. Set up described as "gold" by other retailers, often done by the wholesaler for which their list price is £46.50 - this set up includes D'addario Prelude strings which are considerably better than the factory strings and would cost you £51.62 from the cheapest strings retailer I know to buy yourself.  The rest of the set up involves sending the cello with the bridge and soundpost in place - in other words it arrives ready to play.
2. Better quality bridge fitted by our repairer, cost £45 (and you will be very hard pressed to get it any cheaper, just look around on the internet!)
3. Genuine Wittner Ultra tailpiece with built in adjusters, replacing the Chinese one supplied as standard (more reliable!). list price for this tailpiece is £24.48
4. Better bow: the bow supplied as standard with this outfit is a hardwood bow with round stick, list price £34.  Actually supplied by Elida Violins is a Schroetter AS24C bow which is a Brazilwood bow with ebony frog and octagonal stick.  This bow is a discontinued model but Thomann (who are about the cheapest there are) have the next model down (in its current incarnation which is branded Stingl) at €47 plus shipping.  And yes you will find the Schroetter bow on my website at £40 but that is not the full list price - it is a better bow than the one normally supplied (as I said).
5. Better rosin - as standard this outfit includes a rather cheap and nasty block of rosin but I am supplying it with genuine A&B cello rosin which has a list price of £5.13
According to my calculations, at list price that's about £750 worth and yes you could well expect to pay that in a bricks and mortar specialist shop.
The last Primavera 100 cello I had in stock, at the lowest price in the UK, listed constantly on ebay for six months, on Amazon for four months and on my own website for six months, just sold last week after having been in stock for more than six months.  Goodness knows what some people want, I'm baffled.  I do not keep cellos in regular stock (how can I when they take six months to sell even when priced lower than anyone else's?) so if you miss this one, sorry,
