’08 Troy Post Guitars Skyline Model Pre Jerry Garcia Tribute ExcellentThis is a great guitar. It’s signed by Troy and dated 10/15/08. I’m the original owner. I bought it from Troy here on eBay, and he drove 3-1/2 hours to deliver it to me, on April 20, 2009 (4/20!).I bought it because of its rare combination of features: Gibson neck dimensions, 2 HBs, toggle/2-vol/2-tone, hardtail Strat style bridge, double-cut body, and neck through construction. Garcia’s been my hero since my first show (W&M Hall ‘76), so the fact it kinda looks like Wolf, with a touch of purpleheart (!), didn’t hurt, either.Troy’s shop is located in the mountains of Virginia, near the Skyline Drive, hence the model’s name. Other than the purpleheart and rosewood, all the woods were harvested in Virginia.
• Flame maple top and back over cherry body core, with purpleheart body stringers
• Neck through, flame maple-walnut-cherry, with purpleheart headstock stringers
• 24.75” scale, 1-11/16” brass nut, 12” fretboard radius, nice medium C neck profile, rosewood fretboard, 24 nickel silver frets, I’d say they’re medium jumbo
• EMG 81/85 pickups
• Black chrome hardware, Gotoh tuning machines, string though body bridge
• Weighs 7 pounds 8.5 ounces (7.53 pounds)
• Warm, oil finish all aroundYou’ve seen Troy’s beautiful Jerry Tribute guitars here on eBay. This is his original design, before he got into building the Tributes. Troy’s sense of design and his eye for quality woods are evident in this guitar. Check out the beautiful hand carved top and back, and the grain and bookmatching of the woods. The continuous wood backplate attaches with magnets, so no screwdriver is required to access the control cavity. His fret job is wonderful – plays like glass.The guitar is super clean, with no fret wear, scratches, or dings. Ships in a Road Runner gig bag, packed securely to arrive damage free.
