Yamaha SL top of the range SL-700 Custom (1978, Black Beauty)Here a very rare Yamaha Studio Lord SL-700 Custom, the 1970’s top of the range version of Japanese Yamaha single cutaway model, these guitars were produced during the 1970’s till the early 1980s, along the well known Yamaha SG range, made famous by guitarists like Carlos Santana, Bill Nelson, Phil Manzanera, Al DiMeola, John McGeogh, Stuart Adamson, Bob Marley, Andy Taylor and many more….This Yamaha SL-700 Custom was produced in Yamaha’s Matsumoku’s Custom shops and was deemed one of the top types of the  range. The guitar sports a solid body, fitted with a set neck, gold hardware, dual metal covered Yamaha Humbuckers. The guitar body is decorated with mother of pearl fret markers and cream binding that has beautifully aged to a cream yellow hue.
