Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Tremolux in exceptional condition, complete with one of the rarest speaker cabinets Fender ever produced: the 1x10 "Tone Ring." This amp boasts the sweetness, tonal range, and harmonic clarity that characterizes the Fender Brownface circuits. The tone is pure, dynamic Fender clean sparkle until around 4 on the Volume dial where the amp begins to get just a touch of overdrive on the notes before cascading into full tube saturation when you dime it out. The bias based tremolo circuit has an incredibly deep pulse and the EQ controls have a positively huge sweep. One very unique and desirable feature of this Tremolux is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This 1x10 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal "tone ring." This elegant design makes the cabinet work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you'll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can't get with any other Fender cabinet. While few single 10" speakers can handle 35 ample watts of tube driven power with ease, this particular Tremolux is outfitted with a vintage JBL D110F, which is particularly efficient, detailed, and rich sounding. The circuit is extremely original, with all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps in the preamp, stock pots, and original carbon comp resistors. The original transformers are both present, with the output transformer dating to late '61. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and the smaller bypass caps have been replaced with Spragues as well to keep everything operating within original factory spec. The chassis itself is very clean and the brown faceplate is in impeccable shape, complete with all of the original white barrel knobs. Both the head and speaker cabinet feature original rough blonde tolex that shows only very light, uniform aging and will satisfy any discerning collector. The Oxblood grillcloth is original on both the head and cab and quite clean too, with only a couple extremely tiny snags on the speaker cab. Both the Tone Ring baffles and fiberglass sheets are preset inside the speaker cab, along with the original speaker harness. The tube chart is present and quite clean with crisp corners and only lightly faded paper.  The "LA" date stamp is intact which translates to Jan of 1962.  All of the stock hardware is present on both the head and cabinet aside from a new pair of dogbone handles. This Tremolux is a rare, collector grade amp that has been well maintained and preserved.  With new Tung Sol 6L6 tubes and a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this amp is in optimal condition for your next gig or studio session!
