VINTAGE GUITAR GARDEN presents a fantastic one of a kind USA Custom Build.Built in late 70's / early 80's from a Luthier in the great state of Virginia, USA. Known for his acoustic builds, this was his first Semi Hollow electric build and it turned out amazing!
Features of this Semi-Hollow include:
Body: Sitka top w/ F-hole , Mahogany back and sides, cream binding and center wood block
Neck: 3 piece Mahogany neck with volute
Fretboard: Rosewood fretboard
Frets: 22 Medium low wide frets
Bridge: floating tune-o-matic style with rosewood base and hand carved stop tailpiece.
Finish: Vintageburst
Pickups: Japan Gotoh bridge humbucker & Gotoh P90 style neck humbucker
Control:1 Volume, 1 tone, 3 way selector switch, coil tap switch and kill switch
Tuners: Grovers chrome tuning keys Hardcase included
Here is a Rare Vintage Instrument for sale. A sweet one-of-a-kind hand-built USA Semi-Hollow electric guitar. Built sometime around 1980 by a luthier in Virginia, this was his first ever Semi-Hollow electric build and he did a fantastic job. If you like that Vintage Player look and feel, you will love this guitar.
Many labor hours to hand build a guitar like this one. It's a cross between a Gibson Les Paul and an ES137 semi-hollow. He basically took the classic Les Paul body profile and made it slightly larger. So its a combination semi-hollow and also has the wood center block like Gibson ES models for better sustain. The top is Sitka and the back and sides are mahogany. Also has extra expensive features like: body & neck cream binding, hand carved mahogany pick-guard, hand carved mahogony pickup ring, a hand carved bridge tail piece and rear pot cavity cover. Tones of labor to make all these hand built parts. The set-neck is fabulous. Straight and great low action. Its a slim C profile with low wide medium frets (like Gibson les paul custom fretless wonder), has neck cream binding and a neck volute. The Gotoh humbuckers sound fantastic. Go from Fat Les Paul tones, to creamy jazz tones, to thin Fenderesque tones due to its coil tap neck switch (also has a kill switch , 3 way selector, 1 volume & 1 tone).
The overall condition is definitely a Player. About 40 years old and feels like your favorite baseball glove. She's a real RELIC . Original tuners replaced with chrome Grover tuners, was refretted years ago, the Sitca top has the typical split as is common with so many vintage semi-hollow instruments, and tons of nicks/dings and battle scars from years of playing. Guitars like this one have been played for a reason. She plays and sounds fabulous. Also loud when playing unplugged and practicing at home. A very versatile hand built guitar with tons of MOJO.
