1930 Gibson A-4, wonderful original condition. Serial #85649, FON 9576. Dated by Joe Spann who states this mandolin, by FON, was 'manufactured fairly early in 1930, perhaps March or April' and the 'serial # indicates it was shipped out later in 1930, perhaps mid summer or so.' Also calls this mandolin a 'very clean, original example.'Very loud and solid sounding mandolin. No pings, hums, adventitious sounds. Very minor scratches. All binding intact. Original pickguard.
