Gibson Songbird Sitka Spruce and Mahogany The Gibson Songbird is the predecessor to the Gibson Songwriter and set a new benchmark for modern acoustic guitars. Combining time-honored production techniques such as Gibson’s renowned 1930s - bracing pattern and cutting-edge appointments, this guitar is a versatile, easy player with maximum tone, volume and projection. It features all solid wood construction with a Sitka Spruce top combined with Mahogany back and sides. Sitka is ideal for players who find Adirondack Red Spruce too punchy, bright, and stiff - but do not want to sacrifice on clarity. Sitka Spruce is a versatile topwood that accentuates the warm round aspects of the guitar's tone. The top end is sweet and crisp; with a driving, focused midrange and low-end. It strums with the best of them, but has a neck that flatpicks beautifully across the board. The Mahogany back and sides keep your lead lines clear and distinct, just like the classic flatpicking recordings we've grown to love from players like Clarence White, Doc Watson, and Norman Blake. This guitar is also incredibly balanced in it's frequency response. Notes are rich and full all the way up and down the neck. The midrange and high-end sparkle will cut through any studio or on-stage mix with ease. The lows are balanced, defined, well rounded, and never boomy. The body design of the Songbird is known as a small dreadnought and incorporates classic features like black binding, Morado fingerboard and bridge and a round mahogany neck all contribute to the tonal brilliance of this guitar. This 2002 Gibson Songbird Sitka Spruce and Mahogany is in excellent + condition with only a few minor surface scratches on the side of the guitar as well as a few on the headstock. There is also some light finish sinking at the heel cap. All of these are hard to detect with the eye. Includes Hardshell Case.Features :
