Model: Les Paul Classic Brand: Gibson

1997 Gibson Les Paul Classic. Beautiful example of what Gibson called a "1960 Classic". Although not a Historic Reissue, these Classics of this era were the next best thing. Has Slim taper 60's neck, ABR bridge, nickel hardware and '1960' on the pickguard. The original pickups on this guitar were, in my opinion lacking, so I installed David Allen Dirtycat pickups with coil splits on the volume controls. Don't let the Dirtycat name fool you, these pickups have a PAF tone, perhaps a bit smoother but definately vintage tone. I also upgraded to 500k pots. This guitar has excellent action, very little fret wear, and unbelievable tone. Comes with original paperwork such as inspection card, and original case. (see pics for slight tolex tear on case). If you cannot afford a historic, then this is the next best thing. Has very, very slight scratches on back of body and neck, no cracks or other neck issues. Plastic jackplate has a small crack, 2 of the knobs have very slight cracks in them also. Overall, I rated this guitar as very good condition but actually it is closer to excellent for it's age. Clean examples from this era are getting hard to find. Don't confuse this Les Paul Classic with the new Classic models made today.
Need to clean house, too many guitars, but it would not break my heart if this one didn't sell.
