Description
Type: Resonator Brand: Unbranded

Tenor Resonator Guitar, metal body.  Unbranded but I believe it is a Kay guitar built sometime in the 50-60's, but I am not an expert. Cone has been replaced with a National Tenor cone and biscuit.  When I got this, it had a nonfunctioning single coil and the harness was rusted out. The guitar was not originally built with a PU and somebody along the way added a PU.  I had the entire harness and pots replaced.  Pickup is a Kent Armstrong mini-humbucker which works very well.Guitar is in good condition but has a few small rust pits. Tuners are original and work, guitar is currently tuned CGDA.  Cover plate has some denting. May have had a pick guard as there are some holes which look like mounting holes for the pickguard, which I do not have. Please review pictures before bidding.Guitar itself has a very nice tone with the new cone, sounds a bit more like a spider to me than a biscuit, but does have bark. I bought this for slide playing and it works great for bottle neck style slide though it is a tenor.  Has a good swing tone to it.Includes a beat up alligator skin style case, I will ship as safely as possible.Would make a great introduction to vintage resonators and I am selling at a much lower price than you would pay for a National or other big name from the era. Note the cost includes shipping and selling fees.
