This auction is for a Bruel and Kjaer (B&K, later DPA) 4003, 130V omnidirectional line level studio microphone. Serial number 1022929. These superb microphones are renowned for their uncolored sound and dynamic capabilities, and have given me years of outstanding service in many applications. This one is original B&K, before the studio recording microphone division was spun off as Danish Pro Audio (DPA). Current retail price is $2400. Microphone is in full working order. Comes with a B&K (now DPA) cable for use with this microphone, wooden storage box and B&K 19mm mic clip (current list price $89!) with mounting screw adapter. Cable is terminated with 4-pin XLRs to fit the microphones and carry signal and the 130V power. The current equivalent of this cable sells for around $150. NOTE The foam windscreen and alternate diffuse field grid that originally came with it are missing. Microphone and box have minor scuffing and wear and tear from normal careful use, and all items have been stored carefully in a clean, dry, smoke-free environment.                      MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION: The Type 4003 is an omnidirectional hi-voltage (130 V) condenser microphone with extremely linear frequency response and extended low frequency handling capability (-2dB at 10Hz). The high sensitivity and the low noise-floor of the 4003 makes the microphone the perfect choice for all professional recordings. The Type 4003 is acoustically identical with the studio standard Type 4006, but differs in the powering system. The hi-voltage system enables the 4003 to handle app. 10dB higher SPL than the 4006. The impressive dynamic range of the 4003, together with the wide range of acoustic pressure equalizers and protection grids puts the 4003 in top league of studio quality microphones.                                          NOTE I am selling another identical microphone in a separate auction.
