60's Gibson USA SG Les Paul Custom Standard Junior Jr Pro Hard Shell Guitar Case

DescriptionThis listing is for an extremely rare vintage factory original Gibson Hard Shell guitar case.
It has a Gibson brass badge on the side with a vintage Marigold / Yellow Gold interior and a classic black tolex exterior.
These cases were made for Gibson by Lifton and they're known for having excellent quality. Some of the cases came with a Lifton logo metal badge inside, but this one does not have the badge. Like any used vintage case this one is not perfect, but it's still in pretty good shape, especially for being about 50 years old. All of the hasps and hinges as well as the handle work fine and everything is intact. The gold fabric on the interior reflects some normal wear and a couple of spots are wore thru. On the end near where the lower strap pin goes, some of the fabric has wore thru where the tuners etc have rubbed. The accessory pocket and the lid for it are intact and they work fine. The small yellow pull tab has been replaced with a new one. The tolex exterior has several scuffs and small tears but nothing major. The bare areas could easily be touched up with some black paint. However, since this is a vintage case, we'll leave that up to the new owner. The strap that holds the lid open is intact and it works fine. These cases came with a brass Gibson logo badge ( name plate ) on the side, so there never was a logo on the lid. All of the small metal feet on the bottom are intact and they appear to be original. Overall, the case is very solid but and it will certainly protect your guitar, but you may to to clean it up. Some Armour All would make it look much better, but once again, since this is a vintage case, we'll leave that up to the new owner. This is the correct factory Gibson vintage case for a 1961 1962 1963 SG style Les Paul or a 1964 1965 1966 1967 1968 and 1969 SG.
Those guitars often sell for $5000.00 to $10,000.00 or more. Most of these cases stay with the vintage guitars, so you'll rarely see one like this for sale.The case will work with any of the right hand or left handed Epiphone or Gibson SG Flametop Flame top ReIssue Custom Shop Historic Pro Special Standard Supreme Junior Jr or Ultima type electric guitars, as well as many other models and brands, with an SG body style. Although the case was made for an SG a Nighthawk Night Hawk Blues Hawk or BluesHawk will also fit inside it. It will also work with a Les Paul but ONLY on the Les Pauls with the double cutaway 1960's...... 1961 1962 and 1963 SG style body. And the Custom Shop Les Paul SG type guitars from the same (ReIssue) years, will also fit perfect. A standard single cutaway Les Paul will not work, but we have the case for that guitar, listed on another eBay auction. Please compare these measurements, with your guitar. These are the inside dimensions between the pads, which will give a little. The lower bout is 12-3/4"
The upper bout is 10-1/2"
The overall length is 40-1/2"
The depth is 2-1/4" and there's another 1" or so in the lidIf you have a vintage 61 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 or 69 Les Paul / SG you really need the original case, to maintain the maximum value and collect ability of your instrument.
