Here is an early Mark VI tenor saxophone that is in excellent condition with approximately 95% of its original lacquer remaining. The neck is original to the horn with a matching serial number. It has never been pulled down. This sax has no dents or dings, and is very straight for a horn of this vintage. The low Eb key guard foot was resoldered in the past, but it was not the result of any sort of dent or trauma -- there's no evidence of dent repair where it was resoldered. The original owner recently replaced a handful of pads, so it's a mix of new and old pads. The horn plays very well from top to bottom, with a beautiful full and complex tone. It may need some adjustments after shipping, but you could easily take this horn to a gig tonight if you wanted. The sax comes in a newer (Yamaha Custom) case. John Coltrane played on a 125,xxx Mark VI tenor, and this one is only 89 numbers off. That means that this horn was most likely produced within 3-4 days of his! Mark VI tenors in the 120's range have a reputation for being amazing players. They tend to have wonderful tonal complexity while being a bit more alive and responsive. This is a great sounding horn that has that later Coltrane vibe.  This is a very fun Mark VI to play.I invite you to try this saxophone risk free. US Buyers are welcome to return the sax for a full refund, minus shipping and insurance both ways.
