Gibson LG-2 Banner HeadstockSerial/order# 908 12         908 stamped 12 red pencil1944? I found a serial number list once that led me to believe it is a 1944, but in a recent search could not find same listThis wonderful playing guitar has been restored to playing condition. Made during World War II by women employees. To save metal there is no truss rod. This guitar has the spruce top and mahogany sides and back. The neck is laminated and appears to be mahogany. The back story behind this guitar: Grandpa decided it was time to pass along his guitar, so he gave it to grandson. Grandson decided to scratch his name into the top. Mom took it away and put it into the attic. 20+ years later....they brought it into my repair shop to find out  how much it would cost to restore it. After hearing a repair estimate way above what they wanted to spend, they ended up selling it to us instead. If you were at the 2017 Folk Alliance International conference In Kansas City you may have seen or played this guitar at the Heritage Music Repair booth. Here is a link to a video of this guitar being played: Repairs and restoration done: Glued and cleated cracks in top and back. Replaced bridge and saddle with custom fabricated parts to match originals, originals had been badly "worked on". Replaced tuners with Golden Age Restoration tuners, originals were badly corroded and heads were crumbling. Replaced pick guard, original was pulling away from body and had shrunk and warped. Minor finish touch ups to lessen the look of the scratches in top. Neck is in very good condition. Set up. The original tuners, bridge, and pick guard will be included with the guitar. Also includes new TKL hard casePlease ask any and all questions before bidding.Shipping will be UPS insured for full sale price.NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPINGNO RETURNS
