DW 14 x 5.5 (3/8 inch) Collector’s Series Super Solid Shell Snare, Satin Oil Natural Description: This description comes from whence I recently bought the snare: Memphis Drum Shop. One of the newest and most notable additions to the Collector's Series Snare drum line-up is the Super Solid. Years in the making, it employs a proprietary molecular compression process that produces our most dense wood snare shell yet. The result is a very articulate and responsive snare sound that's perfect for studio or stage. Offered in 100% North American Hard Rock Maple and available in three shell thicknesses (3/8", 1/2", 3/4"), Super solid is DW snare drum technology taken to the next level. Also know that this size – 3/8 – is IMHO the BEST thickness for a great sounding snare that will work for any kind of music, any genre. You will notice that Memphis Drum Shop does not currently carry this sized shell. (They can't get any except for special order). The batter head is DW stock but it has been lightly played upon as demonstrated on their in-house videos. Check out the photos and ask any questions. Thanks! Reason for Selling: Bought as a collector’s and not a player’s snare. Now I want (not need) a birch shell for live playing.
