Description
Lovely vintage National Triolian guitar in completely original condition. Made in Los Angeles by the renowned National Stringed Instrument Company in 1931. Comes with the vintage hard case and the vintage rope strap with tassles that ties around the headstock. This guitar was hardly played, and the fingerboard shows minimal wear with the original frets are in very nice shape. The body also looks extremely clean with a just a few scrapes and nicks in the paint. You can see some flaking of the finish on the back of the neck but the National Triolian decal is intact and the tuners are original. The case is original but showing its age with some "softening" of the lower bout, but it's still holding together. It appears to me that this guitar has never been taken apart and remains very close to factory spec and setup. The action measures 3/32" (highest string) and 4/32" (lowest string) at the 12th fret, just right for hybrid picking & slide playing. There is excellent break angle over the saddle and room to adjust action lower at the saddle if desired. The tone is beautiful and the guitar is a joy to look at and play. I haven't seen many old Nationals that have held up as beautifully as this Walnut sunburst Triolian.
