African blackwood MacPherson bagpipes. Made when the Sinclair shop was briefly bought out by MacPherson ~1958 - 1962. The Tenor bottom bores are 5/16-in and the bass bottom bore is 25/64-in, and the other dimensions are virtually identical to Sinclair pipes of that era. The slightly trapezoidal shape of the drone tops indicates J. Tweedie may have been the turner.Good condition. Original chanter has large catalin sole, and the drone caps and mounts/ferrules are a nice aged yellow. No cracks except for a hairline in a tenor top that was professionally repaired. The tuning chamber is true, and tone and playability are not affected. The pipes have been stripped of shellac and oiled. They will be shipped fully insured. No overseas buyers because of CITES restriction of African blackwood. More information on Shasta Piping Society Pipe Gallery webpage.
