This fine, original and authentic Italian violin
is offered to the highest bidder with no reserve. The violin was made in the workshop of Reale Puglisi in Catania, Sicily in 1920
and bears the maker's original label. This is a very attractive and entirely original modern Italian violin with no evidence of damage or repairs. The violin is very well set up with fine, old, matching boxwood fittings, proper string heights, custom carved bridge, quality ebony fittings and new Thomastik Dominant strings. Play ability, tone and response have been optimized with proper string heights, a properly dressed fingerboard, correct bridge, post size and position, properly fitted and adjusted pegs, correct nut height, saddle, a matching tailpiece with E-string tuner, and matching chin rest. This violin is ready for immediate play. The workshop of Puglisi Reale was established by Giuseppe Reale Puglisi in 1880 in Catania, Sicily. It was run by his son Michaelangelo after 1906 until his death in 1951. Salvatore and Guissepe Puglisi, the grandsons of the founder, assumed operations of the firm after their father, Michaelangelo's death. The workshop was very prolific and the violins by grandfather, father and grandsons are distinctive, quite similar and rather easy for the person familiar with the family's work to accurately identify. The best terms to describe the sound of this instrument are clear, clean and pure. The bell-like clarity of the tone and its pure, clean sound is quite remarkable and rarely found. I don't know if this tone is the elusive "Italian" sound, but I do know that it is extraordinary and quite refreshing compared to some muddy, hollow and fuzzy sounding instruments that carry crazy price tags. This is a profoundly balanced tone; neither really dark, nor stridently bright but a pleasing and smooth blend of colors. The violin has exceptional range, producing a warm, singing tone with the lightest of bow pressure, and a forceful, crystal clear, clean and focused sound when played more aggressively. The violin projects very well, while remaining sweet and resonant under the ear. The sweetness and purity of the sound, combined with ringing overtones and delightful harmonics, provide compelling evidence of the quality of this violin and its value to the advanced professional.
The flexibility, range, power and volume make this violin an ideal tool for the serious performer.
The bidding will open at $49 and the violin will sell to the high bidder regardless of price. This is a real auction. The high bidder wins regardless of price.
I guarantee this violin is Italian, authentically labeled, and as described. It is guaranteed to be delightful and as good as my description or I will happily take it back for a full refund. I stand behind what I sell and only offer good instruments that are worthy of a full guarantee. If you win it, and it isn't what you were hoping for, you can return it for a full refund excluding my shipping charge. But please plan on making up your mind and letting me know within 14 days. Absolutely no refunds or returns considered more than 30 days after auction end.
This is a full-sized violin. The back measures 14 inches or 356 mm. If you are looking for a violin for a few hundred dollars don't waste a lot of your time with this one. It will certainly sell for several thousands, not several hundreds of dollars. Sometimes I am asked how I can sell good and valuable violins like this with a low starting bid and no reserve. It is because I have sold hundreds of violins on eBay to satisfied buyers and the word spreads. I know that serious players, teachers, and advanced students look at my auctions regularly and know that my descriptions are accurate and my violins are very good if I say they are. Just check my feedback. If you have any questions, or need additional photos, please don't hesitate to email me.Please contact me directly if there are any questions, concerns, problems or issues. Contact me first if you plan to return the violin and I will take care of everything in a prompt and professional manner.
I am dedicated to excellent customer service.
The violin does not come with a case or bow. Insured shipping and professional packaging of the highest order is $39 in the US, $69 to Canada and $89 to most other countries. I double pack in new, custom-made shipping cartons. I use packing materials designed to provide superior protection for old violins. I ship very fast, usually within 24 hours of payment-or less. You can expect your package to arrive safely within a couple of days of your payment. Thanks for looking!!!! Pahdah_hound
