We bought this mic knowing it had nothing inside of it it was just a shell. We built a sub frame and put our ribbon system in the mic. This microphone sounds just as good or better than the RCA 44 it also has a new lundhal transformer in it as well. We also put a short cord on it with an XLR. we give this mic a flat 10..
