Description

this is a Model 223. the lower bout is a little over 13 inches. the top is adirondack spruce and the sides and back are Brazilian rosewood with a gorgeous figure. the fingerboard and bridge are ebony. the action is 4 32nds at the 12th fret and it plays easily. there is a slight relief to the neck but nothing to hurt anything. the top and sides appear crack-free. there are  several cracks in the back that are solid. the fingerboard also has a crack at the upper end. finally, there is binding missing on the upper side of the treble bout. it's red and natural wood with an outer celluloid. it can easily be duplicated with natural maple veneer and a red magic marker. i just never got around to it. it needs the crack filled in on the fingerboard, the binding repair and if you refinned the back, you could make the cracks mostly disappear. there may also be some lesser repairs needed...you can be the judge. because of these needed repairs, i'm selling AS IS...a project. however, it plays nice as is. the needed repairs are basically just cosmetic.  so, live with it as is, or would make a nice project for anyone with basic luthier skills. my price reflects the need for these repairs. look at the pics carefully. they show what is needed. please understand, this cool old relic is 120 years old. please don't have unrealistic expectations. any questions, ask before bidding. no case, but will be double-boxed.  Continental US only. thanks.
