Hi. You're looking at 1967 Mosrite Mark V Ventures PROJECT. You get:Body - in good shape. Colour is presumed to be non-original (just because as far as I am aware this metallic blue sparkle wasn't a Mosrite colour) but the refinish is old and well done. The large mark under the trem area appears to be for the earth wire. The screw holes match the 'Moseley' trem unit that's correct for the guitar. There does seem to be a number of very faint marks that indicate it may have had a stop tail and 'tune-o-matic' at some point but if so they have been filled very well and extremely neatly. There is a card shim in the neck socket was stuck in place when the guitar was finished/re-finished. It's taped in place at the moment so as to not lose it and underneath is natural wood. The body was slightly routed by the previous owner to allow the neck pickup to 'slant' a few degrees like a normal Ventures. The work is very well done (better than the original routing to be honest) and was clearly done after the refinish.Pickguard - this is a reproduction guardNeck - Neck is in great shape. It's smooth and fast to the touch. The previous owner has carefully angled the end of the neck to allow the neck pickup to 'slant' like a standard Ventures. Appears to have been refretted (well) as the fret wire feels a little chunkier to me than other Mosrites of the era that I've played. The refret has removed the serial number also. There are remnants of it on the last fret of the fretboard but it's not legible anymore. Decal, tuners, truss rod cover and nut all presumed original and in good order.Tremolo unit, arm and spring - The lack of "of California" and the slightly darkened 'gun metal' finish indicate this is a Japanese made 'Fillmore' unit but it fits exactly. The barrel (or 'fulcrum') that runs through the unit and holds the string ends has suffered stress damage at one end and the metal has broken away. A skilled metalworker may be able to fix this or 'new old stock' replacements are available from Mosrite specialists such as Hallmark Guitars or Front Porch Music in California. You will need:PickupsElectricsBridge

I bought this about 18 months ago with the intention of making a killer 'player' grade Mk V Ventures. The neck in particular is lovely and the guitar feels great. However, I'm snowed under with guitar projects and I'm fortunate enough to own a few other Mosrites and am keen to raise some funds. I did sell this guitar a few months ago to someone in the States. Unfortunately the newly-introduced CITES regulations on rare and endangered wood make this uneconomical to export (because the fretboard is presumed to be Brazilian rosewood) so please note this is a UK-only sale. It's securely packed up and ready to go. The box measures 69cm x 46cm x 16cm and the weight is somewhere around 4kg, maybe say 4.2kg to be safe. I have quoted Parcelforce in shipping costs but I am happy to arrange pick up or a courier of your own choice. The way I see it you have 2 choices - put it back to original, put the pickups back as they were, fill the void at the neck end with a wood plug, get new old stock remaining parts and have a genuine MkV for about half the current going rate.Or - fit it with a stop tail and 2 hot P90s, leave it as it is and have a killer Mosrite you can actually use for gigging (as I intended to).

Please ask any questions before bidding. Thanks for looking!
