Fantastic guitar with custom shop quality at a great price!! You will not be disappointed!! This is a MJT custom Cabronita build that was built about 2 years ago. It has since been used and relied on and it has proven to be quite the guitar. This Cabronita has many familiar vintage tele features that I love! Custom shop quality and feel throughout! I would put this up against any other cabronita. Mark Jenny of MJT finishes worked exclusively on this for both the body and neck needs, all aged. The body was to be a relic'd Les Paul Goldtop sort of color and he did an unbelievable job. It's really incredible. Quite a few measurements were taken and settled on an Allparts neck that closely resembled the size and feel of an actual 1953 Telecaster. Mr. Jenny did a heavy relic job on the neck and it’s really extraordinary, and feels just like an old Tele. It also has a thin nitro coating. I didn't like the Strat bridge the Fender Cabronitas come with, so this was drilled for a vintage style Tele bridge and then fitted with a mastery bridge M6 Hardtail Bridge, also opted to install the threaded neck inserts. Those make a big difference in stability! Of course, had to do the TV Jones Filtertrons, no other option really! CTS 250K pots and CRL 3 way switch. I didn't like the flimsy Les Paul style switch and no tone control configuration, and this one is as Tele-Like as possible. The knobs are a touch closer together than on a standard Tele, but it isn't an issue when playing. The switch and volume knob are in standard Tele locations and feel very familiar for a Tele player. Basically, it looks, plays, and feels like an old Tele, but it sounds a lot different! The TV Jones pickups have a really cool thing; it does the rockabilly thing, the front pickup can get you jazzy or pretty nasty with some dirt. The bridge pickup can do the Tele twang thing, but it also can get you almost to Les Paul territory with some drive. It is a tremendously versatile setup; it is so useable and versatile! It weighs 7.1 lbs. (*note: In one of the pics, the neck plate shows a reflected image of a painting on my wall, was accidental. This is an illusion. The neck plate is clear chrome.)
