I ordered this drum from DW direct with die-cast hoops, tube lugs, lacquered natural finish. It has only been played on select studio sessions. It retains its original batter and reso heads and is an amazing sounding snare drum. I am the original owner. The quality of this snare is unparalleled when placed against any other modern mahogany snare drum. The die-cast hoops provide a tight, projected sound that can be heard and felt when played in the studio or live. The mahogany/gum shell is warm and provides attack when played with power or sensitivity when played lightly in a jazz setting.This drum cost $780.00 plus tax, ordered new from the DW Custom Shop. Its no joke.
