Free carefully packed shipping via UPS Ground (signature required) to the 48 contiguous US states. The preamp on the left is the original (Mk1) version, and the one on the right is the MKII version.  The main difference between the two is that the gain switch rotation in the MKII is clockwise for more gain as we are accustomed; whereas the MK1 version replicated the original Neve approach of counter-clockwise rotation for more gain. All buttons, switches, lights, inputs and outputs work properly with no issues.  As you can see in the photos, I have installed solid aluminum knobs on the gain and output level controls.  That was purely an aesthetic decision. The original knobs are included in the ship group so you have the option to put them back if you like.  I'll do it for you if you make a note of it at auction end. ---start edit---EDIT: I realized that the solid aluminum knobs are held in place with special 1.3mm hex (Allen) screws. This is certainly an uncommon tool to have about, and an unnecessary burden to someone who wants the original GAP Pre-73 experience.  Therefore, I took the time to install the original factory knobs and updated the picture set.  I'll still ship the aluminum knobs with the group, but be aware of the tool requirement. ---end edit---Another difference is that the MK1 is about 2mm taller than the MKII.  That's a potential concern if you plan to rack a device directly atop this pair. This will create a gap on the right half of the rack if the next RU up is occupied.  Again, it's only an aesthetic consideration. In my rack, there was nothing above the pair, and the case temperatures measure 95-F in the hottest spot (near the AC cord entrance) in a 75-F room.If you're not familiar, the Low-Z button changes the input impedance from 1200-ohms to 300-ohms.  I've found this to have interesting effects on various dynamic and ribbon microphones. The output control as about a 20dB range, so you could slam the signal level/gain to get some transformer 'mojo' in the sound, while using the output control to keep the level arriving in the DAW in the optimal range. Happy bidding.
