Lovely, fully working and tuned, example of an antique Lachenal & Co, London made, 48 key concertina. Serial number 54824. This concertina has rosewood ends, 5-fold bellows and colour coding on the keys (Cs are red, sharps & flats are black) to assist with those wishing to learn how to play it. It is fully tuned but I am not certain if it can be classed as concert pitch as I do not understand enough about the reed and bellows set up to say for certain. The thumb straps are adjustable and in excellent condition.
The concertina was restored to full working order when I purchased it 2 years ago. It has been well cared for and has only had minimum use as I have not been able to dedicate time to learning to play it as I had hoped. It is a beautiful instrument that deserves a home where it will be played regularly. It comes in its original Lachenal wooden box , complete with working lock and key. Item can be collected by arrangement from Morpeth, Barnsley or Bath. Alternatively, the concertina will be sent by Royal Mail on a tracked and insured service.
