The EF341SC dreadnought is handcrafted in the Takamine pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments for over five decades. This cutaway guitar has been the choice of professional musicians of all genres. The versatility of this guitar begins with its solid cedar top that can play sweet mellow passages or power chords with equal ability. The maple back and sides are a perfect reflector for the tone generated by the soundboard and the gloss black finish looks great under the stage lights. The mahogany neck is joined to the body with a traditional, ultra-strong dovetail joint. Serial No.: 08010481Japanese-built Takamine Pro Series guitars can be reliably dated from the eight-digit serial numbers typically found at the neck block inside the instruments. The first two digits designate the year of manufacture, followed by two digits denoting the month. The remaining four digits denote the instrument’s sequential number of manufacture among all the instruments made during the month indicated. For example, serial number 08010481 indicates a guitar built in 2008 (08), in January of that year (01), and that it was the 481st guitar made that month (0481). The original UPS Ground label on the shipping carton shows August 29, 2008 which is when I received the guitar in the mail from Kaman Music Corporation.Seller Note: The guitar is flawless with no imperfections. The guitar strings have some tarnish above the sound hole where the set-up technician would have strummed the guitar to certify its performance. However, I decided not to restring the guitar to preserve the authenticity of the original D’Addario claim tag that the instrument was and still is strung with Extended Play Coated D’Addario guitar strings.
