If you are looking, I assume you know the history, the quality, and the rarity of this top of the line neck through Westbury TN 2000.
This 1981 Westbury TN2000 is the third one I have have owned. The 1st was "like new" condition, was sold to a collector in London for $2000 + s/h $100.The second went to a guy in the Northwest for $1650 + $65 s/h.
It is in excellent + condition (I have seen guitars not even close to this condition called "mint") , but at some point had a slight repair where the fret board meets the neck near the nut (see picture). I do not know the problem, but it is super solid, and does not affect playing.
It plays, and sounds great.
The case is the OHS Westbury case, but needs a hinge, and has some loose tolex.
Matsumoku built Westbury Univox Aria Westone Electra Greco Vantage guitars. Post "lawsuit" (1977-1987), to compete with American manufacturers, Japanese guitar manufacturers moved from building copies of American guitars, to new designs, and higher quality. Many people believe that these "Golden Era" guitars surpassed American guitars with innovation and outstanding quality. The Westbury TN 2000, with its Alembic style neck thru design, was the top of the line Westbury guitar, on a par with Ibanez, and with Yamaki-built Daions and Washburns. This is a rare opportunity to own this very collectable vintage MIJ guitar.Shipping CONUS is $65.Elsewhere, please contact me prior to bidding for shipping costs.Bid with confidence; I have sold close to 100 guitars from my collection, that have exceeded buyers expectations. Please ask questions prior to bidding.Note: This is a vintage Japanese built guitar, not a Supro Westbury.
