I didn't think I'd ever post this guitar, but I am strongly lusting for an old Gibson ES-335 offered locally and need to liquidate some gear. This is one of the best ES-335, semi-acoustic guitars I've ever played. I'm not a huge fan of Epiphone guitars, but they got it damn right with this one! When I got it, it had mediocre aftermarket pickups and a completely screwed up electronic (with only two of the four pots half-way working, even though all four where somehow connected ... never seen anything like it - and I regularly repair guitars). However, I replaced the pickups with a set of boutique Vintage Inspired Pickups "Reverend" humbuckers (vintageinspiredpickups.com/reverend), and wired them in the vintage authentic 57 wiring, using only top-shelf components: four matched A500K Bourns pots, two measured 22 nF new old stock Paper-In-Oil (PIO) USA Gudeman capacitors, Switchcraft toggle switch and jack.To enhance the optics, I added an Allparts Gibson ES-335 style tortoise pickguard. Black pickup frames, gold pointers, and Gibson top hat knobs, are new, too.I'll also throw in a black leather strap (Made in Canada) + genuine Dunlop strap locks for free. The gold plating on the bridge and stop tailpiece is worn from years of playing. I was considering replacing those, too, but the guitar sound phenomenal as is. So I decided to keep them. Otherwise, this guitar is in impeccable condition. I couldn't find a single ding or scratch. The tuners are original to the guitar and work perfectly fine, same with the nut (have never had any issues with tuning). The guitar comes in a well worn but perfectly functioning hardshell case. This guitar is as good as any newer Gibson ES-335 style guitar. A pro instrument for cheap, esp. considering all the pro upgrades (pickups are $240 alone!).Make an offer!
