1967 HAGSTROM VIKING 12-STRING - ORIGINAL, NOT A REISSUE!
Estimated price for orientation: 1 399 $
Category: Electric Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Hagstrom Exact Year: 1967 Model: Viking 12 Dexterity: Right-Handed Body Type: Hollow Country/Region of Manufacture: Sweden String Configuration: 12 String
Year: 1967 Make: Hagstrom Model: Viking 12-String Color: Cherry Red Condition: Very good - excellent Weight on my scale: about 7 pounds Case: Original Semi-Hardshell A bit of a rarity here – an original 1967 Hagstrom Viking 12-string electric. I am thinning the herd in my studio, and I really don’t need three electric 12-strings, so this one needs to go to a new home where it will get more use than it gets here (I’m feeling guilty about neglecting it…). Not really a lot to say here – if you are looking at this, you probably have a pretty good idea of what it is – THIS IS AN ORIGINAL ONE, NOT A REISSUE, and it’s in very, very good shape. Neck is straight, everything works, the original case looks brand new. This looks like it sat in a closet for 40 or so years…. Plays really well, has a REALLY nice, comfortable wide flat neck with plenty of room for 12 strings. It was a really tough call whether to keep this one or the Rick 360/12…. The neck on the Rick is so narrow for 12 strings, and this one plays so much easier (especially for a large-handed bass player like myself), but in the studio, people just see the Rick and stop looking, so this one needs to go where it’s appreciated. The only thing wrong with it other than some finish checking is that in between the neck and the neck pickup, there is a little finish that has chipped away from the compression of the neck/body joint. It is purely cosmetic, and the guitar sets up very well – I would just be remiss in not mentioning it. If not for that, I would comfortably call this “near mint” condition. Other than that, no repairs or other issues. The case is the original, and I describe it as semi-hardshell. Again, if you are looking at this, you probably already know what I’m talking about. It is constructed like a soft-shell Gibson-type case, but MUCH heavier. It’a not quite as rigid as a true hardshell, but it’s quite sturdy and this one is in near-perfect condition – it’s as clean as it looks in the pics. The fine print: MUST RECEIVE PAYMENT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE AUCTION’S COMPLETION; BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING FROM ANCHORAGE, AK VIA EITHER USPS PRIORITY OR USPS EXPRESS MAIL (BUYER’S CHOICE). Please contact me during the auction is you would like a shipping quote for both methods. I only ship via USPS because FedEx and UPS are typically at least twice the price from Alaska. I have shipped many, many guitars using USPS; I pack them VERY well and have never had any issues whatsoever. ITEM IS SOLD AS-IS; please contact me if you want any additional information, I am happy to answer questions and take specific pictures!
