Hello! I'm selling my 2007 Gibson Melody Maker 1959 Reissue. It's an outstanding guitar in excellent playing condition, and has a variety of upgrades over the stock model. Alongside those upgrades, it's been refinished in a lovely aged sunburst by Starr Guitars, who I understand did the finish work for Historic Makeovers at one time. Here are the highlights:
Mahogany neck and body, unlike later models
Aged sunburst finish, nitrocellulose, by Starr Guitars
Bone nut, shaped and polished
Full fret level and crown w/ bullet-nose fret ends
Tonepros 3-on-plate tuners
Tonepros stainless steel locking studs
Pigtail wraparound tailpiece
Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickup
On the whole, the guitar's a beast. Plays great, and goes from clean and pretty to all-out raunch with no problem. Also have a Duncan Lil' 59 I can have installed, for anybody who needs humbuckers. Either way, would be a great option for someone looking for a well-sorted rock/twang machine, or someone unwilling to deal with the increasing prices on vintage models.
